Talon Lacrosse was founded in 2005 by three guys who grew up carrying their lacrosse sticks everywhere. They sanded, carved and shaped their wood shafts to give them a personality of their own. To this day, Doug Appleton, Blake Kim and Cort Kim all share an undying passion for lacrosse, its history, culture and tradition. Their collective passion has evolved into a determination to promote and strengthen the understanding of and appreciation for the roots of lacrosse. Towards this end, they have reinvented the lacrosse shafts of yesterday.

"The rapid growth of lacrosse presents many opportunities for young players to get involved in the game, but also presents challenges to ensure the traditions and culture of the sport are recognized and preserved," said Doug.

Cort said, "We feel that today's new equipment has changed the game dramatically. In many respects, the equipment modifications have had a positive impact on the game, with lightweight, sleek, high-performance heads and shafts elevating the speed and skill level of play. The emphasis on high tech products, though, seems to have shifted the attention (of players new to the game) away from a true understanding of the sport's traditions and culture."
